The Admissions Process
Normally, the main entrance period for taking applications is January through February for placement for the following September. Registration Forms are available at our annual Open House in January. Confirmation of placements are finalized by March 15th. We would like our families to understand as much about our philosophy as possible and we want to meet you, so attending our informative Open House in person is key. Or if you have missed the Open House, you may complete the Application Form and return it with the Registration Fee of $175.00.
Once the application is received, the school will set up the necessary appointments, including an interview by a staff member. The interview is an informal opportunity which allows us to get to know your child and for your child to be introduced to the Ark. Both parents are encouraged to be present and it should last about 10 to 15 minutes. The school will contact the family shortly after the interview period to confirm placement. Keep in mind that the Ark reserves the right to accept or refuse placement at the school’s discretion, based on a learner’s developmental readiness for the school environment, the school’s capacity to meet the child’s needs alongside the existing class composition needs, consideration of a match in family and school educational values and demonstration of positive attitudes towards collaborative community participation.
Next, be sure to read the Parent Handbook. A package of additional forms requiring signatures will be mailed/emailed out. These forms, along with a remittance of one month’s non-refundable tuition deposit that will cover your child’s last month of tuition for the year of enrollment, will need to be returned to the school within 7 days as confirmation of acceptance.
For Elementary placement, an applicant also needs to submit past academic records (where available) and a letter of recommendation from their most recent school. Our Administrator will meet with each family to discuss the suitability of placement in our program. The offer of placement will be mailed out, with an Educational Services Contract which must be signed including a remittance of one month’s non-refundable tuition deposit that will cover your child’s last month of tuition for the year of enrollment. Please return it to the school within 7 days as confirmation of acceptance.
In the event of all vacancies being filled, the applicant’s name will be placed on a waiting list and the family will be notified should a space become available. For additional information, or a school tour, please contact us through our email.
